Platinum Highlights is a supportive and inspiring community for women 45 and older that focuses on encouraging, uplifting, motivating and celebrating each other in a every aspect of our changing lives.
WHO ARE WE?
What began as a blog to openly discuss the taboo topic of women aging, has now grown into a culture of beautiful women celebrating their journey. Platinum Highlights was birthed in 2017 with a focus on creating open dialogue about the aging process. After noticing that there were minimal conversations about menopause, the beauty of gray hair, and the changes that come with the blessing of getting older, the conversation was necessary.
Over the past five years, this culture has grown into an authentic group of seasoned women, celebrating every aspect of their lives. We gather together in love to honor the beauty and uniqueness that exists within each of us. Platinum Highlights aims to create a space where women can flourish while being their authentic selves as we find humor and acceptance in the changes that our lives, bodies and minds are enduring.
Our signature event is our Platinum High Tea. Annually, more than 175 Beautiful Aging Gracefully ladies come together to enjoy an afternoon of delectable pastries, great entertainment and wonderful fellowship while supporting our new founded non profit organization, Silver Linings. It’s always a party with a purpose!
Silver Linings allows us to pour our time, talents and treasures into our community by mentoring teen girls. The academic school year of 2022-23 will serve as our inaugural year to host our THRIVE Leadership Program. This six month program is designed to prepare our young ladies for the futures they desire.
Membership to this unique social club provides exclusive access to our thoughtfully planned events in support of our non profit organization Silver Linings. You will receive discounts on events, merchandise, luxury travel and more. Our monthly newsletter, highlights our members, activities, volunteer opportunities, and your personal invite to our private Facebook group.
We consist of empty nesters, retirees, new and established entrepreneurs, full-time, part-time and some-time employees, mothers, wives, sisters, aunts, care-takers and everything in between. We are real women, doing everything we can to enjoy every aspect of our lives. In this stage of life, we are giving back by inspiring, motivating and encouraging our future female leaders. We are grateful for the growth we’ve experienced and look forward to growing with you.
FOUNDER & VISIONARY
Terrice Blackwell
Terrice is an ordinary girl from Jackson, Mississippi. She attended the dynamic Jackson State University, married her college sweetheart and relocated to Atlanta, GA in 1988. As a teenager, she worked at McDonald's and was responsible for the kids birthday parties. This is when her passion for event planning began and has since lead her to plan weddings and social events with budgets greater than $350K.
She also managed hundreds of employees in the customer service industry for some of our fortune 100 Companies. In 2002, she realized the glass ceiling was real and walked away from her corporate career. She has never looked back! She went on to apply her talents and skills into assisting her husband build his business while starting her own consulting firm. They are both hard working entrepreneurs and enjoy life to the fullest.
Today, you can find Terrice in the mix of it all. Her goal is to plan events catered specifically for this group of women and occasionally their partners/spouses/friends. ;-) She's blessed to have a loving husband of almost 35 years and two beautiful adult children that are dedicated to the success of this unique social group.
Terrice enjoys supporting BOB's (Black Owned Businesses), especially restaurants. Fried chicken wings are one of her favorite dishes, especially when prepared by her 89 year young mother. She goes from sandals to boots with no in between. She loves to let her hair blow in the wind which has her obsessed with cute hats. Even though her children are grown, family time means everything to her. She enjoys traveling and going back home to Jackson to visit family and friends. Beaches are her favorite destination and she can eat shrimp and grits daily. But she doesn't! And Beautiful women with smiling faces makes her very happy!
Silver Linings and Platinum Highlights are her creme de la creme! They are a God given vision fulfilled! Silver Linings signifies the girl she was and Platinum Highlights showcases the woman she has become. Her faith is unwavering for she understands that God is in control and this journey is not hers alone. She's blessed to be a blessing! If this dream only included her, it would not have been big enough! Instead it includes countless like minded women and numerous young girls striving to be their very best! You will often hear her say, "Let's grow as we go!"

Do you cover weddings internationally?

Most people have their questions answered over a Skype video call or email. Due to a high volume of enquiries and as I travel a lot, I am not always physically available for a face-to-face meeting, but not to worry; we can talk until we can meet.
